Hydroelectric Energy
Hydroelectric energy could be considered to be the most available form of eco-friendly energy.
Hydroelectric power creates electricity by using flowing or falling water.
It uses the kinetic energy of the water to drive turbines that in turn drive generators.
Many hydroelectric power plants are located with rivers that have strong currents, waterfalls, and even man-made dams.
Hydroelectric energy provides 20% of the world’s electricity and about 4/5 of the world’s electricity from renewable resources.
This video shows some advantages and disadvantages of hydroelectric power.
